This island resort is located on a small island just off of Iloilo, located to the south of Manila and the large island of Luzon. The easiest and most convenient way to reach Boracay is with a short airplane flight. You can fly from Manila to Kalibo. Flights take about 45 minutes, followed by a 90 minute car ride, and a short 10 minute boat ride. The other option is to fly in to Caticlan, the flight time is the same, but you will only be 20 minutes away from Boracay Island. You will have a 10 minute car ride plus a 10 minute boat ride.

Travel Requirements for Your Holidays in the Philippines

There are a few great advantages to enjoying your holidays in the Philippines. One of these advantages is language. Many tropical destinations, especially in Asia, are not in countries where English is considered a requirement in the schools. Most Filipinos understand English very well, with a high percentage of the population being very fluent in English. For an American or Canadian, traveling to the Philippines is very easy. You receive an automatic 21 day tourist visa by simply presenting your passport. If you intend to stay longer you can pay a small fee for a visa extension. There are no extra travel documents required for your holiday stay in the Philippines.

The final advantage is... price! You will discover the cost of services and many items to be 'very low' compared to other tropical destinations. Prices at some luxury resorts will be comparable to other international destinations, but as you head out to enjoy the Philippine culture you will uncover amazing bargains. This is one holiday adventure you and your family will talk about for years! From all - inclusive vacations to island hide a ways, the Philippines are sure to have something special to offer you and your family.

Family holidays to the Philippines are certainly worth a second look!

Happy travels!

Philippines Holidays at the Islands - A Short Introduction

The Philippines is located in South East Asia and, like its neighboring countries, it contains a lot of tourist spots and beautiful beaches. A few years ago, a lot of visitors spent Philippines holidays at the Islands but because of bad tourism and the image that the media has portrayed of the country, most tourists decided to steer away. However, this image has been improving because even though there were many negative reports earlier, the government is trying hard to promote the undiscovered beauty of the country.

The Philippines mainly consists of three islands: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. All these three islands have their own beautiful places waiting to be discovered by travelers. In Luzon, the churches in Ilocos are famous because they have been well -preserved. Paoay church in Laoag City is famous because its walls are made with different shells. The Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao are called the 8th wonder of the world by the Filipinos who are very proud of these beautiful structures.

Animal lovers would surely be delighted at the prospect of seeing some animals that can only be seen in the Philippines. One of the most popular animals is the Tarsier which can be found in Bohol. Before, people were allowed to hold this animal but because it gets stressed out very easily, people are now only allowed to look at it and admire its uniqueness from a distance. Other examples of animals in the Philippines are the Philippine crocodile, Tamaraw and the Philippine eagle.

In Visayas, Boracay Island is famous for its pristine white beaches. It is also a good place to hang out at night because the natives of the island love to entertain. In Mindanao, the remote islands would give you the privacy that you need. There are still some places in this country wherein tribes linger and if people who are adventurous would like to go there, the beauty of something that seemed lost in the modern times will not fail to captivate. The country is surely rich in cultural diversity.

The best place to observe the flora and fauna of the Philippines is the Hundred Islands National Park. Situated in Alaminos city, the name says it all. These set of one hundred islands are perhaps a wonder in themselves because of the picturesque scenery and wonderful weather.

Even though a lot of people say that what can be seen in the Philippines might be similar to what other countries in Asia have, the Filipinos are known to be warm and friendly. It is also a plus that English is mostly spoken and it would be easier to communicate with the people. Filipino women in particular are known for their charm and beauty.

Discovering the true beauty of the Philippine Islands would surely be a treat. There are still a lot more waiting to be appreciated in this exotic country. It is highly recommended that you spend your Philippine Holidays at the islands, you will not be disappointed.
